Avient’s Phoenix Design & Innovation Center is a dynamic hub where clients, manufacturers, and designers collaborate to make critical color decisions for their products and packaging. mrt worked closely with Avient to design an interior environment that reflects their brand’s commitment to innovation, precision, and creativity. At the heart of the design is the main color studio, a carefully curated space where color chips are displayed in an austere setting to ensure true pigment evaluation. The minimal, high-contrast environment allows colors to be seen without distraction, reinforcing Avient’s expertise in color technology. Surrounding the main studio, a series of supporting conference rooms and private offices were designed to enhance workflow and collaboration. Since design teams often spend extended periods in the space, these rooms provide areas for focused discussions, product development, and private meetings—all within a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with Avient’s brand identity. By integrating functionality with Avient’s brand vision, mrt created a space that is both inspiring and purpose-driven, supporting the company’s mission to lead in color innovation.
