Jim joined mrt in 2015 and currently serves as the Director of Architecture. With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years, including 23 years as a licensed architect, he brings extensive expertise in managing projects of varying sizes, complexities, and building types.

Prior to joining mrt, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a LEED Accredited Professional certification in Building Design and Construction. He has also completed Self-Certification training for Phoenix, AZ.

Throughout his impressive architectural career, Jim has gained invaluable experience across diverse fields including education, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and healthcare facilities.

His combined educational background and professional career have shaped him into the optimistic and enthusiastic leader he is today. Jim is widely regarded as the “glue” of the firm, playing a pivotal role in mrt's success due to his vibrant interpersonal skills and dedication to encouraging collaborative environments.

Outside of our firm, Jim has been a member of Phoenix Sister Cities-Prague Chapter for 5 years and counting, where he participates in fundraising events and monthly meetings to creatively and strategically identify opportunities to promote business ties and relations between the cities of Phoenix and Prague, Czech Republic. These events include major efforts to plan student exchange travel between Phoenix high school seniors wishing to travel to Prague and Prague students wishing to travel to Phoenix.
